The tragic incident

 

Three people have died and 20 others sustained injuries following a road crash at Odumasi Ohene Nkwanta near Rider Steel and Iron Company along the Kumasi–Accra Highway in the early hours of Monday, May 11, 2026.

The collision involved a Mitsubishi Outlander with registration number DV G8180 and a Benz Sprinter minibus with registration number GE 6024-22 According to the statement, emergency responders received a distress call at about 07:55hrs and quickly moved to the scene. Twelve victims had already been rescued by bystanders before the rescue team arrived, while eight others who were trapped in the vehicles were successfully rescued by the emergency crew.
